VOLUNTEER WITH US

We have a number of varied, exciting and rewarding roles to offer you. If you have time to spare, and would like to help those in need in your community, please contact us and see how you can make a difference to their lives.

Volunteer opportunities required urgently:

Children’s and Families’ Activities Coordinator

Please see the main article on the Welcome Page for we are looking for a person with a real understanding of vulnerable children and their needs. We are in close touch with almost 100 children from babies to sixth form students, among whom are a significant number with disabilities. From its foundation in 1967, Christian CARE has always focused on families and children; you would be joining us at an exciting time when the children are our key focus.

Volunteer opportunities always required:

Befrienders

We have 15 befrienders and they are already linked with more than 20 families, so we would welcome new befrienders so that we can be prepared to extend our support to other families who are in need of someone to be there for them in painful, upsetting and challenging times.

Van Drivers and Helpers for Furniture Project

The team of 7 - including the kitchenware and DIY departments - is being kept very busy with requests both for whole house furnishings and individual items. There are frequent offers of donations, even house clearances, which we need to replenish stocks. We hope to recruit another van driver and a new helper to share the load.

Drive and Drop

Do you have a car? Could you use it to help Christian CARE just once a month for an hour or two? We might ask you to deliver bags of food or toys or bedding or baby items – with a smile and a kindly word. We would be so pleased to have more ad hoc helpers standing by.
